Special exhibition ‘22 Amazing Ukiyo-e Artists’

57 selected works from the collection of the Osaka UKIYOE Museum will be on show!
The enigmatic painter Toshusai Sharaku, who painted deformed Yakusha-e (actor pictures) and disappeared without a trace after only ten months of activity. Katsushika Hokusai, a genius artist who influenced not only Japan but also the world. They and 22 other fine Ukiyo-e artists have their works on display.
In addition, 16 works on display for the first time at the museum are a must-see!
Take a look at Ukiyo-e with a magnifying glass, which you can borrow free of charge.
 
 
 

"The Great Wave off Kanagawa", from the series Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji by Katsushika Hokusai is on permanent exhibition.
